Week 1 Karaoke Challenge

This was a tough one. Here's why:

1. Done originally by Alliyah, this version is a cover by Gossip, who performs the song with a different key structure (more flats) than Alliyah did. On its own, I could've overcome that, especially since I listened to this song 25+ times over the previous week to prepare. However, when you're on stage, and everyone hears a song that they know in a different key, you end up with different versions being sung to you at the same time you're trying to hone in on a right note. 

2. To make matters trickier, Gossip also has several versions of the same cover -- live versions and studio versions that are each a bit different. I got a different version than I'd practiced, which also has different keys and flats (and that intro monologue I didn't perform). 

3. Finally, I ended up having to record this TWICE during the same evening because my first recording was accidentally turned off by the friend with my phone; I'm fortunate that I got a second chance several hours later! By then, it was after midnight, though, and my voice was cooked!

All in all, go in with low expectations here! I'm pretty sure this is the worst karaoke performance I've ever shared video of -- and it's hopefully going widespread for the purpose of this fundraising campaign! 

However, I promised a good faith attempt, with some off-notes, and I think I accomplished that!
