Zaneta Gileno, LCSW, CT, is a seasoned psychotherapist, professor, and certified thanatologist known for her impactful work in grief counseling, trauma recovery, and community organizing, particularly among military families and youth in foster care. With a rich professional background that includes serving as Director at the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, Zaneta has led efforts to establish nationwide grief support networks, develop evidence-based curriculums, and foster professional development for mental health professionals.
Currently, Zaneta is the Senior Mental Health Advisor and Board Member at Repatriate Our Patriots and operates a private psychotherapy practice, specializing in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and peer-support models. As a lecturer and student advisor at Columbia University, she actively mentors and educates the next generation of social workers. Zaneta's dedication is underscored by her certifications in suicide intervention and clinical social work, alongside her profound commitment to compassionate, culturally competent care for bereaved and trauma-affected individuals and families.
