Grief Retreats for Connection,

Frank R. Campbell, Ph.D., LCSW, CT
Frank R. Campbell, Ph.D., LCSW, CT, is the Executive Director Emeritus of the Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center and founder of the National Suicidology Training Center (NSTC), established in 2018, where he continues to serve as Volunteer Co-Chair. With over three decades of experience supporting those bereaved by suicide, Dr. Campbell introduced the Active Postvention Model (APM) in 1997, widely recognized as the LOSS Team (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors). This innovative model dispatches trained responders directly to the scenes of suicides to provide immediate support, referrals, and hope, significantly reducing the time between a suicide and the provision of help to survivors. The LOSS Team concept has since been adopted internationally, including in Australia, Singapore, Northern Ireland, Canada, and the United States.
In addition to his volunteer role as an Assistant Coroner in East Baton Rouge Parish, Dr. Campbell serves as Senior Consultant for Campbell and Associates Consulting, specializing in Active Postvention initiatives and forensic suicidology cases. His influential work has been featured in professional journals, book chapters, and three Discovery Channel documentaries. Dr. Campbell is a past president of the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) and has earned numerous honors, including the Louis Dublin Award, the Roger J. Tierney Award for service, Louisiana Social Worker of the Year, and designation as the first John W. Barton Fellow in his hometown of Baton Rouge. An Army veteran, he is especially proud of his longstanding contributions as a consultant to the TAPS program, supporting military families through survivor seminars and national programs.
